Pathways to a PhD

The following table is designed to assist you to determine your eligibility for a PhD program in the Faculty of Information Technology. The table assumes that you have the English language requirements for entry to a PhD program.

Academic requirements for PhD: Bachelor with Class 1 or 2a Honours (GPA 5.5 and above); research masters degree; coursework masters degree with a research component of 33% and GPA 5.0 and above.

** Masters by Research students may articulate to the PhD program after 12 months enrolment (full-time) and completion of the Articulation to PhD seminar.

Entry to a Higher Research Degree (IT60 and PhD) is not just based on academic ability. The candidate must also have a suitable topic and supervisory team.
