Dean's Scholars Program

The Dean’s Scholars Program positions QUT's Faculty of IT as a leader in information technology. It is a specialised program offering a real edge to students who want an honours degree. The program can be completed at an accelerated rate (allowing completion in three years) or it can be completed in four years or part-time.

The accelerated Program is designed for students with an OP 1 or 2 (or equivalent), who can also demonstrate active involvement in their school and local community activities. Applicants must be outstanding current, or returning from a gap year, Year 12 students who completed their Year 12 education in Australia. A goal of the Dean’s Scholars Program is to introduce high achieving students to information technology research, via the honours pathway.

As part of this Program students are assigned a senior academic mentor. Students have the option of exiting the Program early having completed the undergraduate degree. Students who wish to continue in Honours must obtain a course GPA of 5.5 for the undergraduate component of the course.
