Submitting your assignment

Students enrolled in FIT units will be asked to submit assignments either manually (via hard copy submitted at the counter) or electronically (via a web page). Your unit coordinator will instruct you on the method of submission for each assignment.

  • Manually submitted assignments require submitting a hardcopy of the assignment at one of the QUT Student Computing Helpdesks on each campus. The QUT manual submission process is called “Assignment Minder”. Visit the Assignment Minder web site which provides submission instructions, helpdesk locations and opening hours.
  • Electronic assignments are submitted using the Faculty’s OAS (Online Assessment Submission).
  • Visit the Online Assessment System (OAS) web site or the
  • OAS User guide for more information.

Late submission and requests for extensions

Assignments will not be accepted if more than two weeks late or if the material has been subsequently reviewed in class. Assignments received up to two weeks late will be accepted but a sliding scale of penalties will apply. The default penalty scale to operate in the Faculty is outlined in the week 1 document of each Unit. Also, individual lecturers may establish different penalties for their unit and if so, these will also be detailed in the week 1 document.

When faced with extraordinary circumstances, students may apply for extension to the submission date of the assignment. Applications for extensions must be submitted directly to the unit coordinator using the “Application to Extension”, prior to and no later than the due date of the assignment. All applications must provide written supporting evidence and must meet the requirements outlined in the unit's week 1 document.

Getting your results
