The Faculty of Information Technology Dean's List honours students who complete a minimum of 36 credit points in a given semester, or over two consecutive semesters, and achieve a Grade Point Average (GPA) of seven. View the list of our previous Dean's List recipients.

The Faculty of IT awards its outstanding students with a number of prizes offered by the university, Faculty and industry sponsors. These awards are presented at the annual Faculty of IT Awards Ceremony in May each year. View the list of our previous award winners.

Queensland University of Technology Medals

The University Medal is awarded to graduands of the Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) courses who have achieved an exceptionally high level of performance in their studies. Performance in the related bachelor degree is also taken into account.

Accenture Prize

Awarded to a final year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Information Technology with a major in:

  • Business Systems Engineering,
  • Information Systems
  • Information Technology Management
  • Software Architecture, or
  • Network Systems

who demonstrates ability in successful teamwork, leadership, both academically and within the community, and academic achievement (Application required)

Australian Computer Society Incorporated Prizes

Awarded annually for the top two graduates with outstanding achievement in the Bachelor of Informatin Tehnology.

Australian Library and Information Association, Queensland Branch Prize

Awarded annually to the highest achieving graduating student of the Masters of Information Management.

Data #3 Client Services Pty Ltd Prize

Awarded annually to the highest achieving graduating student in the Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Information Systems.

Libero Prize

Awarded annually to the student with the highest result in the unit ITN316 Digital Library Systems.

Karen Willis Prize

Awarded annually to the most outstanding female student in her second year of the Bachelor of Information Technology.

Maxus Australia Ltd Prize

Awarded to the best performing student in ITN275: Information Organisation.

Oakton Performance Award

Award for the undergraduate student with the highest result in ITB264: Information Systems Consulting.

School of Information Systems First Year Prizes

Two prizes:
(1) Award to the student with the highest aggregate result in ITB002 IT Professional Studies and ITB004 Database Systems;
(2) Award to the student with the highest aggregate result in ITB007 Web Development and ITB008 Modelling Analysis and Design

School of Software Engineering and Data Communication First Year Prizes

Two prizes:
(1) Award to the student with the highest aggregate result in ITB001 Problem Solving and Programming nd ITB003 Object Oriented Programming;
(2) Award to the student with the highest aggregate result in ITB005 Systems Architecture and ITB006 Network

State Library of Queensland Merit Award

Awarded to the highest achieving continuing student (not graduating) in the Masters of Information Management.

Theresa Byrnes Prize

Awarded annually to the female Bachelor of Information Technology full-time student who achieves the highest aggregate results in the eight core units in the first year of their Bachelor of Information Technology.

Outstanding Graduate

Awarded annually to the outstanding graduate from the Bachelor of Information Technology.
