Computer Accounts
Any student who is currently enrolled in a FIT unit is eligible for a QUT Access account which will give you access to eligible QUT and FIT services. Please use this account when accessing the FIT Lab computers.
QUT Access accounts are not created or managed by the faculty. Visit the Student IT Services guide or contact QUT's IT Helpdesk for QUT Access account information, password help and Password and Information Facility rules.
You will be given access to the FIT computers when your have enrolled in an FIT unit and those enrolments will appear under your QUT Virtual. Allow up to 7 days for enrolments to be processed.
Changing the QUTADLAB password
Your QUTAD account password can be reset or changed by yourself if you go to the computer accounts page on the QUT web site. To do this though you will need a QUT access account and password to log on to the computer accounts web page.
Please note: When you change your password you will be logged in to your computer with your old account password. To avoid any potential loss of functionality please re-log in to your machine.
Logging into FIT labs
To log on to a FIT lab computer follow the following step.
- Press control alt and delete keys at the same time.
- A Dialog box with a username and password field will appear on your screen.
- In the username field please type your student number, for example n1234567.
- Move your cursor into the password field, by either using the mouse or the tab key and then type in your QUT ACCESS password .
- Select the OK button , either by using the mouse or the using the tab key, and pressing enter.
- This should start the log on process. If everything is all right you will be
presented with message "preparing networking settings and connections".
- If you have any problems with your log on please note down the room you are in with the PC number and the error message and provide this information to ithelpdesk@qut.edu.au

The Online Assessment System (OAS) |
This is an online system that allows you to submit assignments using a computer and web browser. Check with your lecturer to see what assignments will be submitted using the OAS, as not all assignments are submitted using the OAS. For more information on the OAS check the OAS online guide. |

Email that is accessible using a web browser and an Internet connection. |

Printing Terminals and Laptop Lounge |

A single PC in front of the room, that allows you to print. Log on using your QUT Access password. You need to have a printing card which you can get from the QUT printing service (QPS) at level 4 of the Library in V block. |
