International Student Scholarships

The Faculty of Information Technology at QUT offers a range of scholarships for high-achieving international scholars who enrol in coursework information technology programs at QUT.  Successful scholars may be eligible for more than one of these scholarships.

Following is a list of the faculty offered international scholarships:

• Scholarship Group A: Pre-arrival Merit Scholarships
• Scholarship Group B: Post-arrival Merit Scholarships
• Scholarship Group C: Pre-arrival Full Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarships

Scholarship Group A: Pre-arrival Merit Scholarships

A significant number of scholarships are available for students commencing their studies in the Faculty of Information Technology.  These scholarships are designed to reward high achieving international students by contributing $3,500 AUD towards their first semester’s tuition fees.

All applicants who meet the selection criteria, including achieving an outstanding grade point average in their previous studies, will automatically be considered for the award and advised in writing if successful. Students must meet all the conditions of their offer before the scholarship can be confirmed.

Candidates selected for a Group A scholarship are also eligible to be considered for a Group B scholarship.

Group B: Post-arrival Merit Scholarships

From July 2008, a significant number of scholarships are available for students who have completed their first semester of studies in a coursework degree in the Faculty of Information Technology. This scholarship is designed to reward high achieving international students by awarding $3,500 AUD towards their second semester’s tuition fees.

To be eligible for this award, students must achieve a minimum overall Grade Point Average (set by Faculty) during their first semester of fulltime study in the Faculty of IT at QUT.  All applicants who meet the selection criteria will automatically be considered for the award and advised in writing if successful. Scholarship recipients must proceed to the second semester of their course before the scholarship can be confirmed.

Group C: Pre-arrival Full Tution Fee Waiver Scholarships

A limited number of Full Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarships are available for outstanding students commencing their studies in a coursework degree in the Faculty of Information Technology.  Students will be considered for these scholarships based on academic excellence in their previous studies.  Awards will be decided by a selection process within the Faculty.  Students are automatically considered for a Group C scholarship and are not required to submit an application form. 

Full tuition fee waiver scholarships are payable for the course duration specified by the university for full-time completion of the degree, up to a maximum of three years.  Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum overall Grade Point Average (set by Faculty) in their degree to retain the scholarship.
