Sony Foundation Australia Scholarship
In partnership with Sony, the Faculty of IT is proud to announce the Sony Foundation Australia Scholarships for 2008. The Sony Foundation Australia Scholarships are open to QUT information technology students and are valued at $6,000 over two full-time semesters.
Bachelor of Information Technology students (including double degree students) entering their second, third or final year of their degree, and who are looking to specialise in, or possess an interest in Games Design or Technology, are eligible to apply. This scholarship will also be open to students in the Bachelor of Games and Interactive Entertainment.
Students must be currently enrolled in the course and have completed 96 credit points of their degree at QUT at the time of application. The scholarship is only available to Australian citizens or permanent residents.
The closing date for applications is Friday 1 February 2008 .

Dean's Scholars Program
The Dean's Scholars Program positions QUT as a leader in information technology. It is an accelerated program of study offering a real edge to information technology students as it allows completion of an undergraduate degree and an honours degree in three years instead of four years. A goal of the Dean's Scholars Program is to introduce high achieving students to information technology research, via the honours pathway.
All undergraduate degrees offered by the Faculty are eligible for the Dean's Scholars Program.
The accelerated program is designed for students with an OP 1 or 2 (or equivalent), who can also demonstrate active involvement in their school and local community.

'go for IT gURL' Merit Scholarships
The Faculty of Information Technology offers 'go for IT gURL' scholarships to Queensland Year 12 female students wishing to study IT. Up to five scholarships are offered each year (valued at $4,000 each) to contribute towards the cost of one year's University study for females under taking a degree in information technology.
These scholarships contribute towards the student's first year of IT studies, and will be paid in the form of a study stipend of $2,000 at the commencement of each of the two semesters.
The students will be selected on academic merit, based on their Year 12 results. The minimum requirement for eligibility will be an Overall Position of 5.

Undergraduate Summer Equity/Merit Bursaries
The FIT Equity Committee offers summer bursaries to assist students from equity groups who are having difficulties undertaking a full semester load due to their social or economic circumstances. A total of two summer subject fees will be awarded based on need and merit.

IBM Australia Development Laboratory 2008 Scholarship - Gold Coast
The Faculty of Information Technology, in partnership with IBM, is proud to announce a scholarship valued at $8,000 for IT/Computer Systems/Software Engineering students.
Bachelor of Information Technology/Computer Systems/Software Engineering students (including double degree students) entering the final year of their degree, who have demonstrated academic excellence in the areas of information technology, computer systems or software engineering are eligible to apply.

Indigenous Undergraduate Financial Support
From 2006, all Indigenous students studying the Bachelor of Information Technology will receive financial support in the form of textbook vouchers in Semesters 1 and 2. This initiative is designed to encourage and support Indigenous students whilst they undertake their undergraduate studies.
