About Me

I am a LECTURER in the School of Software Engineering and Data Communications. The School of Software Engineering and Data Communications forms part of the Faculty of Information Technology of the Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

I finished my Ph.D study under the supervision of Prof. Binh Pham and Dr. Phoebe Chen and received my Ph.D. on 10^th April, 2003.

I completed my tertiary education in the Department of Manufacture Engineering, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), Beijing, China and received the degree of Bachelor of Science in 1987 and Master of Science in 1990. From March 1990 to July 1998, I worked as an engineer in CERIS (Beijing Central Engineering and Research Incorporation of Iron and Steel Industry, Beijing, China). Then, I moved to Australia and studied as a Master of Computing by Coursework in the Department of Computing, School of Mathematics, Physics, Computing and Electronics, Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia from July 1998 to April 1999. Later, I transferred to University of Ballarat in Victoria, Australia and studied as a PhD student in the School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences until Jan 2000. Then, I followed my supervisor to Queensland University of Technology in Queensland, Australia and studied as a PhD student in the Faculty of Information Technology. I enjoyed my studying, working and travelling in the past of my life and I will keep doing them in the future.

Research Interests

I am interested in any thing which I still do not know or do not know well. Followings are some of my research interests but not limited to:

(1) Image processing/retrieval.

(2) Computer graphics.

(2) Decision support systems.

(3) Concurrent and Distributed Systems and Applications.

(4) Game Development using Java.

(5) Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Engineering (CAD/CAE), especially in Solid Modelling area.

(6) Artificial Intelligence techniques, including Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Algorithms, Expert Systems and Knowledge Engineering.

(7) Database Systems.

(8) Programming Languages.

(9) User Modelling/Profiling.
